We’re super excited to announce that the Disney blog, The Mickey Mindset, will now be merging together with Open Vault Disney!
The merge will take effect sometime this week, and if you enjoyed Open Vault Disney how it always was and will be, don’t worry! This merger will not affect anyway that OVD has been running until now. The campaign events, including signing petitions, writing emails/letters and making phone calls, will continue just has it always has!
Walt-Era fans rejoice! The Disney Movie Rewards website is showing the January 28, 1965 episode of The Wonderful World of Color, A Country Coyote Goes Hollywood, as the next upcoming Disney Movie Club Exclusive. Narrated by Rex Allen, it tells the story of a coyote who is accidentally transported from his home to the Hollywood Hills and must learn to adapt to his new surroundings.
Look for A Country Coyote Goes Hollywood to be released later this month.
Just as we get close to Halloween, many of our members will remember “Child of Glass”.
I’m not one of them.
Film historian Leonard Maltin (the host of the Disney Treasures DVD line) recently answered a question on YouTube about the possibility of Spin and Marty: Season Two getting a DVD release, and then went into explanation/discussion for all unreleased classic Disney titles yet to be released on DVD. As much as we wish it were not the case, Mr. Maltin’s feelings on the subject are not too hopeful. As Mr. Maltin points out, Disney seems more interested in moving away from physical formats (i.e. DVD and Blu-Ray) and moving to just digital formats.
This past week, the newest Disney Movie Club Exclusive on DVD, Escapade in Florence, has been released. It was unknown at the time, but now we know that this film was released by itself, so Annette Funicello’s The Horsemasters is still in need of a DVD release. Look for a review on this release from us in the near future.
You can pick it up from the Disney Movie Club or pick it up HERE on Disney Movie Club’s Official eBay Store!
We are very excited to note that due to fan support and the great sale Amazon.com has been holding, nine of the top twenty best-selling titles sold in the Kids & Family DVD section on Amazon.com are Disney Afternoon titles, with the top three all belonging to DuckTales!
