Toonzone.net is reporting that Disney has restored the recently discovered Disney short Hungry Hobos (1928) , and plans to premiere it at the Telluride Film Festival.
The film was digitally restored by the special projects division at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and is the 20th cartoon in the Oswald series as produced by Walt Disney (Disney made 26 cartoons starring the cartoon Rabbit before losing the rights to his distributed, Winkler. Winkler would in turn loose the character to Walter Lantz, better known as the father of Woody Woodpecker). The film, previously thought lost, was discovered by a private archive in England who put it on the auction block for the unheard sum of 30,000 dollars. It is unknown at this point if the film and the also unreleased Poor Papa (1927), will be released on home video or on an extra on the upcoming Epic Mickey 2.
